Basil’s passion for hand blown glass was first ignited when he was traveling throughout the Mediterranean as a young man. During one of his stops, he was introduced to several glass artists. He was fascinated by the beautiful creations that emerged from the hot, dark, & dangerous world they worked in. He was hooked.

Over the next several decades, Basil spent more and more time learning the craft and honing his skills. It was a passionate hobby – there was nothing romantic about the hard work & brutally hot environment, but molten glass allowed for creativity he had only imagined possible.

On a fateful day, CaSandra returned to the office with a sketch and told Basil they had all decided this was the answer for the client’s foyer… but, he was the one who needed to make this simple sketch, this “vision”, into a reality.

He began by designing an internal structural frame that would house the lighting components and that could also hold the glass to create a fully functioning chandelier – not just a sculpture. Basil then booked time at a hot glass studio and got to work.

The rest is history! He wasn’t an amateur anymore; he was officially a professional artist and quickly began creating large commissioned hand blown glass chandeliers for some of the most affluent clients in America and around the world.

Basil is still our lead artist all these years later; hands on and overseeing every chandelier we produce. With each creation, he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible further. To quote Basil, “If you can dream it, we can make it”!

Basil never dreamed of fame or notoriety. He was not interested in large expos to display his creations or to live in the public eye. Even television documentaries and appearances were immediately declined. He enjoys a private and peaceful life, allowing him to focus on making beautiful creations.

CaSandra Azmann spent over two decades as an entrepreneurial business owner, real estate developer, licensed contractor, and interior designer specializing in old world Italian finishes and custom artistry for exclusive clientele on Palm Beach, also knows as Billionaire’s Row.

During an estate renovation for a client, the search for the right chandelier for their foyer became a challenge. Nothing her or her clients could find fit the design or majesty of the project. One afternoon, while they all sat pondering the foyer’s crowning piece, CaSandra sketched an idea; a blown glass chandelier mimicking the waves lapping the shore at sunset. At once, the clients agreed this was the solution – a completely custom hand blown glass chandelier, but how was she to make this vision a reality?

What was born out of that first sketch that day was Blown Glass Collective Inc … but it was just the beginning, and she had no idea that a simple sketch would explode into a worldwide success.

Word quickly spread and clients heard that if CaSandra was working on your project, then you might be able to get them to create a hand blown glass chandelier for you. After years of encouragement, mainly from their clients, Blown Glass Collective was officially born and launched online to offer their creations to the world.

From that moment on, Blown Glass Collective became their Swan Song … their Legacy … their way to leave something beautiful in the world that will long outlive them.
